compact spring

how cute is this butterfly compact!

i found it at a resale shop and couldn't resist picking it up.

i am not sure if i will keep it yet or resell it.

if i keep it i think i will put a cute pic of my grandson 

on the compact side so i can show him off.

who am i kidding - all photos of my grandson are cute!

i saw this vintage canned ham at the elkhorn flea market last year.

still think about it.....silly i know.

i found the quilted piece on the bench at a resale shop.

not sure what the small quilt piece was for, 

it looks like it could have 

been a pillow cover, but it doesn't have

an opening.

sprung!

spring has sprung!

we have had some nice warm sunny days, 

and it spurred me on to start 

bringing spring indoors.

i started this "quilt'

years ago.

the squares are hand pieced and i just recently machine

stiched them together.

there are a few squares that i will need to rip out as they don't quite match up.

i haven't completed the backing or binding,

i suppose i will get to all of this in another few years.

two days in a row of temps in the high 50's

time to bring some spring indoors.

a little birdy told me today is the 1st day of spring.

i don't believe it.....

 the ground is covered with snow and the high today was 20 degrees.

yuck!

a couple days ago i was driving in the country and all of a sudden i smelled a common smell associated with summer - skunk.  

funny thing was i was transformed to summer so it wasn't all bad.

sort of.

spring and flowers are going to be awhile yet, more snow coming thursday night.

so the next best thing to do is bring out a little spring color complete with badly drawn flowers.

it has been so warm here it is more like summer. 
 time to get out the spring/summer tools.

good day for spring cleaning, inside anyway as it has been raining all day. we are sure to wake up tomorrow to a sunny day, green grass included.
