rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

last summer, i picked up this letter made from a book at the cute shop, "poppins" on mackinaw island.

here's a pic of the letters in the shop.

i was trolling anthropologie the other day (love looking at the displays)
and what did i find but letters made from books.

the exact same item, but a higher price.

i just took a peak at etsy and there are a quite a few shops that sell similar letters
at a variety of prices.

santa got lost in london

santa's helper (aka rick) was very nice to me and let me order a backpack from cath kidston.  i have been a fan for quite awhile and have always loved her oilcloth, just a bit pricey though. I found her book "vintage style" (1999) at the local library years ago and checked it out many times, and incurred many overdue fines.  finally, i did find a book at a resale store - no more overdue fines.

anywho, we orderd the bag online, twice, for some reason the neither order registered. (they have a usa website) i emailed the company, they suggested calling their toll-free number and order over the phone.  so i called london : )  it was quite fun to talk to someone with a british accent.  reordered it on the 29th and got it on the 4th, much faster than i expected.  love the cute mailing envelope the bag came in.

this backpack should come in handy for all those flea markets that i resovlved to go to this year.  fingers crossed i keep my new years resolution.  ha ha.

haunted shopping

this building could be the perfect place for a haunted house, but instead it is a building full of treats.

not sure what this building was origonally built for, but now it houses vintage and retro items, 6,000 ft worth!  but only a small portion is open for shopping.

approaching the entrance and seeing this in the window i figured good things were ahead.

they had painted this mod entrance a few years ago and i had always wondered what was in the building, never saw any life, now we know.  area 51 vintage is the main biz here, oodles and scads is the other.  they will be having another sale in November, hope i can make it.

this way to cool vintage.

who doesn't need a few waves.

love this desk, there was a whole groovy yellow bedroom set available, mixed in behind other vintage items.

a lovely red vinyl couch.

would love to know where this originally came from.

what a lovely chair, other than the fabric, i can see it in off white fabric with brass nail heads? wood painted black?  or not?

sold. where there's a will there's a way.

at least somebody likes it, hum but this is the reason we are chair shopping.

boo!
