got candy?

it's almost time for......

this was my favorite candy back in my trick or treat days,
candy "cigarettes".
luckily i can still find them at the only ben franklin left in town.

i found the candy sign at the waterloo antique mall, it was in kathy's booth, down lilac lane.

what was your favorite candy at halloween?

halloween putz

hi just back from jetting out to santa fe, new mexico

just kidding, saw this house in one of the older neighborhoods in madison.  love the style.
reminds me of a putz house, a halloween putz house if they had made them back in the day.

haunted shopping

this building could be the perfect place for a haunted house, but instead it is a building full of treats.

not sure what this building was origonally built for, but now it houses vintage and retro items, 6,000 ft worth!  but only a small portion is open for shopping.

approaching the entrance and seeing this in the window i figured good things were ahead.

they had painted this mod entrance a few years ago and i had always wondered what was in the building, never saw any life, now we know.  area 51 vintage is the main biz here, oodles and scads is the other.  they will be having another sale in November, hope i can make it.

this way to cool vintage.

who doesn't need a few waves.

love this desk, there was a whole groovy yellow bedroom set available, mixed in behind other vintage items.

a lovely red vinyl couch.

would love to know where this originally came from.

what a lovely chair, other than the fabric, i can see it in off white fabric with brass nail heads? wood painted black?  or not?

sold. where there's a will there's a way.

at least somebody likes it, hum but this is the reason we are chair shopping.

boo!

let's do math

i foung these "sweet" flash cards at a garage sale for a quarter.  love the graphics.  the majority of the flash cards involve cake, candy or pie.

who could concentrate on math when seeing all these sweets?

they did throw in a few fruits.

and there is one vegetable - why bother?

just my type

I found this cute pink typewriter at the hixton antique mall on my way up north last week. I found it upstairs in one of the back rooms, in a carrying case, closed - i believe (i was so excited my memory's a little blury) i open it, it is a vintage typewriter, not only is it a vintage typewriter,

it's pink!!!

so i pulled out a piece of paper to see if it works and surprise!

i have seen cursive typewriters on etsy and ebay. there is actually the same pink smith corona on etsy for over $300 but it isn't cursive. and i didn't pay nowhere near that.
 sweet!

the dish at elkhorn

what a way to enjoy the last flea market of the season at elkhorn.

how about a little whip cream on that?

a few pies for hungry shoppers.  we went past at about 7:30 and when we went to back for a piece at noon they had only 9 pieces of apple pie left.  it was delish. the $ are going to help restore the old school house on the fair grounds.

on to the shopping.
my sister, nephew - happy birthday luke! and brother-in-law came down for the event and we spent the full day at the market. we were tired at the end but it was fun.

groovy!

yes!  the crystal gazer says husband's ok with any purchases i make.

who'd buy a plastic lemon tree???

one last look at the pie.
