soups on

i saw this poster in a magazine or on a blog, 

i can't remember exactly where.

but after i saw it, i was on a mission to find one.

it took a long time to find.

and when i found one, it took a long time before it arrived.

it's a long story.......

glad i found it though.

it's working out for the "gallery wall" above the kitchen cupboards.

elkhorn - flukes, coincidences, chances

went to the first elkhorn flea market of the season last sunday.

beautiful day and lots of strange coincidences, flukes, chances. 

first up - best parking spot ever! didn't get there until 9:30 

elkhorn opens at 7.

the line to the entrance was long and once you enter you wind around the fairgrounds and you never know where you will end up, hit the jackpot this time.

second - out of the 1,000's of people at the market what are the chance that you run into someone you know, i ran into my friend denise and her mother. 

and then very similar just walking down a aisle, jan from gracies cottage was walking by to her car and 

hollered hi as she passed by.

thirdly - i saw a couple walking by at the flea market that i had talked to in passing at the columbus antique mall the day before. 

columbus is about 60 miles north of elkhorn.

what are the chances........

below are a few treasures i saw, signs as usual seem to be a theme.

thought michael's and vicki's cart was cute 

with all the mini license plates.

you could even buy a soda fountain - in my dreams.

spotted this in another booth and this would have been perfect to go with the soda fountain of my dreams.

if money was no object it would have come home with me.

and we end with another sign.

found this beaut at the columbus antique mall.

a new, never used buddy L grill.

i think it's from the 60's, early 70's.

i don't think brats or burgers will ever hit this grill.

hope to keep it nice,

maybe use it for a potted geranium.

more good things about columbus to come.

so i dusted off my sewing machine 

and attempted to bring this gypsie kart back.

last weekend.

now it makes me 

finally farmers market saturday

saturday was the annual farmers market outing that i go to with my friend jennifer.
it's great to get out and see all the sites.
the farmer's market is held on the capitol square in madison.

this is boris, so cute!

humm, the second bulldog that i have seen in the last few weeks.

must be a sign.

he was a hit at the market i don't think his owner made 

it too far around the market without

getting stopped every few feet.

this is the other reason we go on this saturday,

it's the crazylegs run.

over 15,000 runners.

jennifer and enjoy a delicious coffee and pastry

while watching all the fit runners go by.

badger celebs.

this is the elite group.

can you see the white bears?

in the paper today there was a photo of 

one of the bears down on the ground, without his head.

he's ok,  just tripped.
