almost famous

the new fall flea market style magazine is out!
cover styled by camp wandawega hostess with the mostess herself, tereasa surratt.

they have great articles like this one, favorite finds.
we can all relate to this i bet.

they posted fav finds from all over the us -
let's see what fav finds they found in wisconsin

whaaaat?????

that's right.

i emailed a "few" favorite finds back when  flea market style blogged about fav finds and they picked my souvenirs sign!!!
i didn't hear anything back after i had emailed, so i didn't think my finds were much of anything : )
they might of thought i was a stalker and wanted to cut off all communications....

to my surprise,
my sister donna's sister-in-law (correct grammar?) diane
commented on my previous post "table for two" (thanks again diane)
and asked if that was me in the flea market style mag fav find.
i wasn't able to pick up the magazine yet,and had no clue.

thanks ki (i know she personally picked it) and all the good folks at flea market style magazine,
home to the fun junk bonanza in minnesota.
this is a great article about the
"spring (snow-mageddon) junk bonanza"
 that my
sister-in-law sue
and i went to.

here the sign, sorry not the best photo.
but how happy am i?????????

electrified!!!!!*

*sorry for the lame picasa

table for two

my latest thrifty find

a coleman folding aluminum hi-stand

look at what fun they are having just because they have a
"a coleman folding aluminum hi-stand"

here it is - un-folded

it is pretty unstable as is, so rick made a top for it,

painted it red and we are good to go.

time to check the map
and pack it up.

christmas in july, make that august

i am the lucky recipient of this walter's beer advertisement.
my sister-in-law sue was so nice to give it to me, love it.

eau claire wisconsin is the home of walter's beer; it is also where my mom grew up. my family would take trips from california to wisconsin every couple years (one trip was in a red vw bug - 4 of us) to visit my  grandpa and grandma in eau claire.
who knows maybe they had walters beer at one of the family gatherings......

also the other day my neighbor heather presented me with these fancy holiday pine cones.

she found them at an antique store during a little northwoods get-away in minocqua, wisconsin.
we walk every so often, and on the last leg of our intense workout - we go past a big pine tree. of course we have to stop and pick up the pine cones on the ground.
need to get paintin' those pine cones.

with all this holiday talk, might be hard not to watch some holiday movies.
"shop around the corner" is one of my favs.
happy christmas in august!
