I love the graphics and info about this "cooky" sheet. I have never seen a green colored cookie sheet before. this cookie sheet was made by the Mirro Co. here in Manitowac, Wisconsin.

At its peak, Mirro was the United States' largest manufacturer of aluminum  cooking utensils, and over time had as many as eight plants in three states, with products ranging from pots and pans to small boats and aluminum siding.

  i picked it up at the local thrift shop.  we are lucky - i am lucky that we have one in our small town.  currently they are having a vintage kitchen sale, in other words, items for sale are antique store prices.  not much of a break.  I will have to go back in a few days, when they start to mark items down and see if anything good is left.... happy baking!

i enjoyed a nice fire this weekend in the craft/tv room and i don't have a fireplace in this room.  my buddy marg gave me the as seen on tv "yuletide fireplace" dvd.  it is pretty slick.  you have the option of fireplace crackle, classic holiday music (it actually has great songs) or both fireplace crackle and music playing together and it will play continuously for hours and hours and hours for all your holiday relaxing.  now i just need some scratch and sniff hot cocoa to go with it.

over the holidays when the boys were home, rick generously decided to part with his vintage vinyl and let the boys take turns picking  albums until they were all taken.  both boys love all kinds of music and it is pretty neat to see them enjoy the bands from mom and dads era.

mara's market's for sale

wouldn't this be perfect!

i was checking the times to see when this shop was going to be open yesterday and saw that the building is for sale!  it would be perfect to start mara's market as it is halfway there. love the aisle signage, vintage lighting and tin ceiling.  the shop owner has had the business for 18 years, she is ready to try something new.  she gave me a great history tour of the building. i bought a few powerball tickets today, as that would probably be the only way i could own something like this.  i hope the next owner keeps is as a vintage market, just spiff it up a bit.
